Trans Day of Remembrance
Hey QLL 💜✨
Tomorrow, November 20th, is the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance. This is the day where we solemnly remember the lives of the trans members of our community who we lost to violence in the last year.
If you'd like to spend this year's TDoR reading works by trans authors, you can check out our Trans* Stories list in Libby!
If you'd like to learn more about the history of Trans Day of Remembrance, you can check out these resources:
If you'd like to participate in remembering our trans siblings taken from us in the last year and beyond, we also have a couple of resources that acknowledge and honor the individuals we've lost. Trigger warning - these resources discuss hate crimes and violence, so proceed with caution.
Violence is too often a reality of living life as a queer person. We must protect our community and prioritize those who are most at risk. Trans people of color are disproportionately affected by fatal violence. We must acknowledge these painful realities if we are to end violence against our community.
With love and support,
